The adult choir will practice after church in the Sunday School Room.
Christmas Day: We plan to have only a morning service and no lunch. We will be having services at Byron Manor at 3:00 pm for anyone who wants to join us for a second service.

Wednesday Night (12/7): Worship Night - 7:00 pm at the Fellowship Hall
Thank You to everyone who participated in the Live Nativity! It was a blessing for the visitors as well as participants. There were 63 actors and 13 support staff. 393 people attended and $664 was donated for Flat River Outreach Ministries. We gave away many Bible Story Books and tracts. Thank you all for your help and prayers!
Christmas Caroling will be taking place after church on Sunday, December 11. There will be two groups that travel to locations near each other. Please gather after church to form the groups.
The Christmas Program is coming up Dec 18th. For those interested in joining the adult choir for the program, please meet after church in the Sunday School Room. If you are unable to attend, please send Bekah an email to be added to the email list regarding practice.
The Sunday School is sponsoring a refugee family from Burma this Christmas. We have created a sign up genius for their specific requests. We will also gift them a basket of home essentials such as cleaning supplies.

A private showing of ‘The Mystery of the Christmas Star’ at the Car-Fles Planetarium at Muskegon Community College at 5 or 5:30 PM (your choice of show time).
Pizza afterwards at Pizza Ranch nearby to discuss the Nativity duties and reenactor scripts.

Shoebox Packing Thank You: A huge thank you to everyone who donated items and time to help pack 150 shoeboxes to go to children across the world. We will be shipping the boxes next week, so there is still time to donate towards shipping cost. Thanks again!
Living History Nativity: Saturday, December 3 from 10am to 3pm at Heidi's Farmstand
Our goal for the Living History Nativity is to present Jesus Christ as a real historical human being, not just a religious fable like zeus and thor. During the day on December 3 at Heidi’s Farmstand, each reenactor has the opportunity to share the Gospel message from their character’s historical perspective through the true events of Christmas. There are many ‘living history’ sites such as Greenfield Village and Williamsburg where people dress in historical period clothing and role play historical figures. No one questions if George Washington or Caesar were real people. By presenting Jesus Christ in this way, our prayer is that many people will consider the words He taught, the life He lived, the death He died, and the power of His resurrection.
There are sign up sheets in the lunch room at church for all sorts of participants in this event. Set up helpers, animal cleaner uppers, food cookers, hole punchers, donut givers, reenactor angels, wise men, shepherds, Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, Simeon, Anna, etc…
The Tuesday night before on November 29 all participants and their families are invited to a private showing of ‘The Mystery of the Christmas Star’ at the Car-Fles Planetarium at Muskegon Community College at 5 or 5:30 PM (your choice of show time). Afterwards we have a room reserved at Pizza Ranch nearby to discuss the Living History Nativity duties, reenactor scripts, and the awe of God coming to live among us. Oh, we will also have pizza to eat.
Please invite your acquaintances, friends, and neighbors to attend and pray that people will come and consider the truth of Jesus Christ, Saviour.

Apologetics Conference in Washington, IL
Registration has been opened to all interested attendees for the Apologetics Conference on Saturday, November 12 in Washington, IL. Registration is required ( https://www.etr.apostolicchristian.org/apologetics-conference-2022 ) and open until October 23.
This conference is the third annual offering by the Apologetics Committee of the Elders Teaching Resource, which exists to raise awareness of what apologetics is, why it matters, and provide entryways into major apologetic questions. The theme is "Who is God?” Topics include:
Is God Good?
Is Jesus God?
Can God Be 3-in-1?
Why Does This Matter?
This is Why We Worship
Facilitated discussion groups will be offered through the day to further explore these questions.

To all of our church friends,
Marilyn will be moving the beginning of October to a new Assisted Living community called Cascade Trails. We are all very excited for her move in that she will be getting extra care and be so much closer to us as well as church friends .
Her birthday is coming up Friday, October 7th - she will be 88. (She still kids that she is not the oldest member of the church!)
We hope to fill her new mailbox with love as she celebrates another year! If you could send her a birthday card we would so appreciate it!

Wednesday Night (9/14): Traditional Service - 7:00 pm at church
Michigan Youth Day: We are excited about hosting Michigan Youth Day and thank you to all who have agreed to assist. Below is the schedule for the weekend:
Saturday:
12:15 pm: Meet at the Fellowship Center to carpool to Hastings for 1pm canoeing at U-Rent-Em Canoe ( 805 W Apple St, Hastings, MI 49058 ). You are welcome to meet us there if that works better.
After canoeing, we will gather back at the Fellowship Center for games and activities with dinner around 5:30pm.
7:00 pm: Bro. Scott Wegmen from Taylor will be speaking which any and all from Church are welcomed to attend with a snack afterwards.
If you are keeping someone overnight, please arrive by 8pm to meet your guests.
Sunday:
Morning Service: The middle and high school students will start downstairs in the Sunday School room and then join everyone in the sanctuary. The other Sunday School students will gather downstairs as normal.
After Lunch: The students will return to the Fellowship Center for Brandon Bahr sharing his testimony with a snack afterwards and all will be dismissed.

The Women's Bible Study will begin a 10-week fall session at the Fellowship Hall on September 12 from 9:30-11am. Please note the change to Monday mornings. They will be working through The Servant King: A Study of the Gospel of Luke. Please let Sis. Heidi Kaeb know, or utilize the sign-up sheet, and she will get a book to you.

Wednesday Night (5/25): Traditional service - 7:00 pm at church
The first visioning topic the ministers will address is “Biblical Church Leadership: Shepherding or an Electric Fence?”. We would like to teach this topic in the format of a Sunday School Lesson in the sanctuary for the morning service this Sunday (May 22).
Sunday School will be in the afternoon because of the Sunday morning meeting. Students will sing in the front for the afternoon service and then be dismissed down to Sunday School.
The preschool class will have Sunday School at the regular time in the morning.

The All Michigan Sing will be hosted by our Bay City congregation on Sunday, May 15. Plans are still being finalized for times and location and those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP. Welcome to Bro. Jerod Kieser who has recently moved to our area! He was raised in Bluffton North and baptized there in 2007. He attended his home church and Leo while in college in Fort Wayne, then moved out to Cleveland for grad school and attended Rittman/Smithville while there. Since finishing his schooling, he has been working at Purdue and e-attending West Lafayette. Currently, he is starting work as an R&D scientist in Zeeland and living in Hudsonville.

Reminder: Tonight (Saturday) Matt & Janelle Steidinger, Jaela, and Sierra will be providing an update on their ministry work in Brazil with Amazon Salt and Light at the Fellowship Hall. The presentation will start at 7 pm and will include worship, a presentation, and a light snack.
Christmas Caroling will be immediately after church on Sunday (Dec 12) with two groups, one to Lowell and one to Clark nursing home. We will either be singing outside or inside with masks, please dress appropriately.
Christmas Program is scheduled for next Sunday, December 19 starting at 7 PM at Church.
Students should arrive at 6:30 PM.
